Why is Miss Bel a Rare Car?
Miss Bel is one of the first cars of its kind to be produced. One way to tell is her original "six slot valances" lower grille, which is similar to the one shown in the original ad on the left. Shortly after production started, this grille design was modified by dividing each slot with a thin vertical bar, as seen on the right. Very few cars (including Miss Bel) still exist that were made with the original grille.
Is this the same Car as 'Christine'?
Miss Bel bears a close redemblance to the red 1958 Plymouth Fury that starred in the famous horror movie
'Christine',
based on the classic Stephen King book of the same name.
The main visible differences—other than the color—include the configuration (Christine is a 2-door coupe),
the lower grille and the hubcups.
Who is 'Time Capsule Miss Belvedere'?
A close relative of Miss Bel, time capsule 'Miss Belvedere' is a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere that was sealed in an underground vault on the grounds of the Tulsa city courthouse on June 15, 1957, as a 50-year time capsule, and unearthed on June 14, 2007, during the state's centennial celebration. Unfortunately, the vault was breached by long term water intrusion, causing significant cosmetic and structural damage. Efforts were made to stabilize Miss Belvedere's condition. After being stored for ten years, she was accepted by the Historic Auto Attractions Museum in Roscoe, Illinois, and shipped in June 2017. [Source: Wikipedia]
